The Coastal City

It is finally holiday! After a week of work, I sort out places where I can go on a holiday, but finally I decide to go to the coastal city of... Jakarta!

It is almost unbelievable to see the busy city, Jakarta, without traffic jam. I happily stroll around the city and stop at the Bandar Jakarta Seafood Restaurant. The food and drinks in this seaside restaurant are genuinely remarkable, especially the coconut drink.

My father chooses the hotel Mercure for our family to stay in because it is located in Ancol, a region with many exciting places.

After checking in, I continue my journey to Ecco Park. This is a beautiful place with many trees. It is beautiful and clean, with many supporting decorations. I cycle  along the track and see the wonderful view.

Exhausted after three hours of cycling, I am so hungry that I impatiently hurry to the Talaga Sampireun restaurant. Here, I eat several kinds of dish, including the soursop soup for dessert.

The next day, I go to the hotel Kempinski near the Grand Indonesia mall, where I will be staying for the next three days.

This is a picture of my room. It is really great to stay here! The decorations are simple but artistic, and I love the way the room is  dressed.

The things I do next are mainly taking a leisure walk and shopping in the mall. I also watch the film Transformers : The Age of Extinction in the Blitzmegaplex cinema. It's the first time for me watching 4DX, and the special effects are great. When a fire starts, the smoke chokes my neck. I fell as if I'm a person in the movie! But unfortunately, taking pictures is not allowed, so I don't take a single picture in that amazing cinema.

I close my holiday with a stick of Magnum Black in the Magnum Cafe. It's as pleasing as the things I've experienced!

Soaking in the Marine World

The Seaworld Indonesia is recorded as the biggest aquarium in the Southeast Asia for 17 years. There are many fish contained in that aquarium, and I decided to visit the place for the first time after several years.

The biggest aquarium in Seaworld Indonesia is named as 'the Main Aquarium'. It contains more than 500 species of fish. Not only small fish, but stingrays, sharks, and turtles also fly in the middle of tons of water. When a trainer came to feed them, they created a big whirpool of hungry fish.

This is a picture of a sea otter. It is an active animal, always running here and there. It's a good thing I succeeded in taking a picture of it.

Another stunning animal is the mermaid.  Despite of its huge body, this mammal eats seaweed instead of meat. Its natural habitat is the freshwater rivers in the island of Borneo.

That one is a picture of a seastar in the Touchpool. Touchpool is a shallow pool especially designed for us to touch creatures in it. There are also sharks and turtles in this pool.

District 11

It was a nice holiday when a senior asked me to join District 11. What was that? I didn't know, but I soon realised that it was going to be a fun experience.

I and my friends gathered together to prepare for District 11. My group was District Cura which means 'be healed'.

We soon went through a long journey with a minibus to our destination place, Capolaga Adventure Camp. When we stepped our feet on a footpath to the Goabadak waterfall, we were given a mission to compete against the other districts. We were also given the District Dollar.

The first game was to walk with balloons in front of our bellies, showering one of our friends with water (but this was actually intended to fill a container which that person carried), and being wet.

The most exciting part was when we hiked in the middle of the night. The commander made us do that mission. In the first stop, we chose wrong choices, so we must drink a glass of salty lemon tea. Yuck! In the second stop, we were told to guess things without looking at it. One of those 'things' was a rat. Eww. Hahahaa. In the third stop, a mathematical question had prepared to welcome us. We searched trough the darkness for marbles based on our answer.

The peak of the event was when the 11 Districts joined together to rebel against the heartless Commander Efraim. Commander Efraim was our boss. However, he was heartless, mysterious, and cruel. He wouldn't care if one of us was hurt.

We, the Fighters, were equipped with water guns. We were to shoot the commander's lives. However, he had a vast army which also aimed for our lives. But luckily, we won!
Commander Efraim was symbolized as sin that ties us. However, after Jesus died for us because his love for us, we can live and be free. We must fight against sin with our guns- the Word of God.

God bless you!

Line I Love Coffee

Line I Love Coffee is an interesting game by Pati and supported by Line. The main point of this game is to please your virtual grandfather by developing his coffee shop.

Let's begin with the tutorial. Make coffee beans by tapping the machine! Then, make a drink or a side dish with the same way.

After you finish a goal, you can get some XPs to level up. You will be able have a helper in your coffe shop, such as this Anonymous. You can change his or her outfit to get a higher score.

There will also be several special customers, and they can give you coins and other things.

You should try to play this game. It is very fun for me.. :)

Line

Line is one of the most good-viewed applications. In line, we can send messages to our friends by adding their line ID. We can even add people that use line around us. For a group chat, just simply add people into your conversation.

Line really allows us to use our creativity. We can select a theme for our line- Cony, Brown, or Normal. Each theme has its own uniqueness. We can also use lots of cute stickers to express our feelings.

The other interesting thing is that line has many games connected! Therefore, we can play games and challenge our friends.

I think that you should download this useful and fun application. For Apple users, you can download it in the app store. For Androids, use Google play, and for Blackberry use Blackberry store.

Remember Through the Stars

Number the Stars

As I took my journey through the words in Number the Stars book, I felt more and more delighted than ever. The book told a story about the life of Annemarie Johansen, a ten-year-old girl who lived during the WW II when the Nazi  occupied Denmark, the place she had lived in. Despite of her young age, she faced many problems, including lack of nutricious food, especially meat and cupcakes. She also had to take part in a risky journey to protect her Jewish best friend, Ellen Rosen.

The author, Lois Lowry, has written a very wonderful book. I learnt a lot about life from the book, and how to appreciate the gifts of God. Like Annemarie, I know I must be braved when I am faced with trouble. It also helps me to have confidence in myself. I used to be very nervous and hesitant whenever I was asked to present a subject or do an important work, but not anymore, after learning how brave Annemarie was. The story is also exciting and realistic. I like the use of the simple but meaningful words and I love the way the characters with different personalities are mixed up in the story.

The title Lois Lowry chose is very good. The stars represent the blessings. The 'number of the stars' reminds us of the blessings God has given us.

For me, the Star of David necklace Ellen had symbolised friendship and faithfulness. Annemarie longed for Ellen and kept the necklace during and even after the war. Meanwhile, the pink frosted cupcake that Annemarie's sister longed for represents the small favors in our lives. These may disappear, but we must always be grateful for the milk and bread- the other blessings we have each day that we sometimes forget. The soldiers represent the people who want to make us feel discouraged. They make us feel sad but we must be brave and tough during the war that symbolizes the problems in our lives and fight it to reach the national flag, that is, the glory and blessings in our lives.

Through the book, we can learn to appreciate things that we have today. Sometimes, I don't finish my lunch until the very last bite. Though it's quite a simple matter, I realize that I must change because there are many starving people, and I can't imagine what Annemarie had gone through. In addition, the meaning and importance of friendship, like what Annemarie and Ellen had, is clearly explained. We must also care about our friends and help them when they are in need. Friendship is not about status. It's about being faithful to our friends. I used to be afraid to make a deep friendship, but now I know that I won't be disappointed.

"You are essentially who you create yourself to be and all that occurs in your life is the result of your own making."
--- Stephen Richards
"You're braver than you believe and stronger than you seem."
--- A. A. Milne
So, decide to create a stronger, braver self and believe that you can be the one you want to be.

The reason why I choose 'Remember Through the Stars' as the title is because this book reminds me about how to be brave and to be grateful for everything. I hope that this book will also remind you about the great lessons it teaches.

I think I'll rate this book 9 out of 10. Annemarie lied to the Nazi soldiers in this book. People may misinterpret it. This gives a negative point. But, I believe that the moral lessons are very valuable in our lives. They create strong stances in our minds.

This is a very great book for children and teenagers. It teaches us to be brave and to believe in ourselves as well as to be grateful of what we have. Reading this book provides me with an unforgettable experience. I like this book very much.

P.S. I hope you can comment on this post. I will appreciate it if you can give a comment with 3 or more sentences. Moreover, if you like this post, please help to promote and share this post. Anyway, thank you so much for visiting.

A Trip to Singapore

On 23 March 2014, I went to Singapore. There, I experienced a life as a secondary school student in Anderson. However, I spent a lot of time visiting various places beside. I stayed in the Anderson dorm. The dorm was quite comfortable.

I went to the USS shortly after arriving in Singapore. Unfortunately, the Galactica and Transformers ride were closed at that time, so I and my friends joined in only Mummy and other rides. I took this picture at a certain point in the USS.

The first day was so fun that I managed to sleep earlier. The next day was my first school. I and my friends were separated into different classes. I met many new friends there. The Andersonians were so friendly and nice that I felt relaxed during the joyful lessons. After school, I went straight to the Orchard road. I and my friends shopped for various things. The experience was exciting. We even had a chance to taste the famous on-dollar ice cream!

The next day was school again, and China Town after. After visiting the shops and Chinese food restaurants, we finally ate at the MCD.

The next day was Bugis Junction. We shopped there, and even bought the same shirts we used the last day. Here is a picture of nice keychains in a shop Smiggle that my friends like.

It was finally the last day for school. I felt sad for leaving the Andersonians. The teachers and classmates there were very nice. Then, it was lunchtime and we went to the Marina Barrage. There, I discovered about Singapore's water. Next, I went to the Garden by the Bay. There were many flowers and trees there.  One of them had many magenta branches and rough leaves- it was beautiful. Up on the skytree, the view was great.

A day for ACS exhibition. Many school competed in the event, showing their creative works. Some of them were sophisticated, but some others, like the proposed idea of a 'floating chair', etc, etc - was quite funny, I should say. But overall, they were brilliant ideas. It was very exciting!

The last day! I went to the Science centre. There were many scientific-developed things there. It was so much fun. Look at my shining shirt!

It was finally over. I went to the airport to eat lunch and go home. The trip was wonderful. I couldn't believe a week passed in a glance!
